DEDICATED to JOHN CHAU, CHRISTIAN MISSIONARY, RIP, KILLED BY SENTINEL ISLAND "NATIVES"

DEDICATED to JOHN CHAU, CHRISTIAN MISSIONARY, RIP, KILLED BY SENTINEL ISLAND "NATIVES" , NOVEMBER 2018 ...and maybe other martyrs for the Christian faith.. ; I have not yet decided how this blog will "evolve" but I felt at the bare minimum the Christian community should make a stand for a fellow Christian who felt "called" to bring the Good News to these island people .

We KNOW what the secular media & world thinks about Christian missionaries and evangelists, but I am ashamed of a few "fellow" Christians who are taking the same side as the negative critics who say "He knew it was forbidden..." or "He knew it was illegal..." . If that's the standard then more and more everywhere it will be forbidden and illegal to tell the Good News, even in the so-called "modern world" ; and I suppose my fellow Christians will say, "Well, we better not evangelize then, because the law forbids it."

We obey man's law when it is in accord with God's law. When man's law commands us to disobey God's law, we have ONE OBLIGATION..and that is to OUR GOD, not man. Some of my fellow Christians (including Catholics ) have become SO COWARDLY ..even to the extent that in the safety of your home behind a computer or on a phone you cannot even voice support for this young man who was killed . Shame on you all.

Really, what you are doing is being an escapist from your obligation to also evangelize...if not in Africa or on a remote island, simply right in your own neighborhood. Because you fail to do so, and even fail to support other Christians who try to do so, you feel guilty, and instead of repenting and trying to be better about it, you begin to denounce those who ARE trying to follow God's great commission for us. In so doing, you actually probably are NO LONGER A real Christian. Shame on you.

Why do you go to church if you don't plan to live the faith in the real world. The church can't save you if you are NOT authentically , in good faith, trying to live your faith out and about in the real world.

So thank you John Chau for your good intentions, and maybe a seed was planted that we won't appreciate until many years from now. That's the mystery of godliness. The mystery of the cross. Our job is not to try to make 100% sense of God, but to TRUST & OBEY.
